Xi Chapter History

It all started when two ambitious young women decided to initiate the revival of an organization. Alejandra Alvarado and Claudia Pacheco wanted something more out of their college experience, and they searched for a place that they could call their home away from home. After meticulous work and research, these two young ladies finally found exactly what they had been looking for: Kappa Delta Chi.

Immediately, the search for prospective individuals began at Prairie View A&M University. Unfortunately, this long, arduous process was filled with obstacles. This group of women was different, and nothing was going to stand in their way. Many people doubted that these strong, independent Latina women could bring an organization that was unique, diverse, and a force to be reckoned with.

After months of hard work and dedication, 10 beautiful women were pinned as a Colony of Kappa Delta Chi on November 3, 2007.

On December 14, 2007 their dreams came true. These women perservered despite the obstacles and re-chartered the Ximply Divine Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Inc. at Prairie View A&M University. The Xi Chapter was the first Latina-founded Sorority at Prairie View A&M, and it was the first chapter to be established at an HBCU school making history for the organization and opening new doors for its members.

Although we are Latina-founded, we are multiculturally grounded. We have become an exceptionally diverse group of leaders. We encourage women of all ethnic backgrounds and abilities to unite under the common interest of making a difference in our community. This wonderful organization not only stands out from the crowd, but it started a new generation of progress, diversity, and unity that will live on for years to come.
